Original Fat Lava Tall Cone Shades are hard to find these days and even if you do find them they are usually worse for wear and a bit tatty, dirty or squashed out of shape OR they may just not suit your interior decor - We can make replacement Fat Lava Light Shades in your own choice of fabric and turn that ugly ducking in to a beautiful swan.
Classic, Vintage or Retro replacement lamp shades for West German pottery lamp bases - The iconic original styles had plain Hessian Fabric, or Barkcloth lampshades with an open weave in earthy tones highlighting the colours in the Ceramic Lamp Base: browns, creams, oranges & greens for example. Or they go completely wild with swirly or geometric designs in vibrant colours usually including orange & brown from 1960s & 1970s.
These matching custom Lamp Shades are made in a Linen woven in Lancashire - it’s a posh hessian really - close up you see the cross woven colours of Grey and Orange and illuminated you get that authentic slubby hatching. Retro vintage replacement lamp shades.
The classic finish on a Lava lamp Shade was a band of woven trim a couple of inches up from the base edge - a nice finishing touch like a border. We have struggled to find authentic trim for our range of Lava Lamp shades, mainly due to the wide band width required along with the right pattern motif. But we have found one excellent option & it’s made in the UK too - you can chose to add it to your new lampshade specification for a stylish embellishment - we will add pictures here soon.
