Some Big Fat News…
We are pleased to announce the acquisition of some original slip casting moulds for 1960s lamp base designs from a company in Stoke-on-Trent. This acquisition will enable us to reissue these designs with updated glazes and finishing techniques, aiming for a release in 2026. A few of the moulds came with bisque-fired models, so we already know what they look like. But some didn’t, so it’s going to be a bit of a surprise when we finally cast them. I found these moulds by complete chance. We’ve been making new lampshades for customers with old West German Fat Lava Lamps for many years, but this is a bit of a new adventure for us, and it’s super exciting!
It was by complete chance I found these for sale and it is very exciting as we have for many years made new lampshades for customers with old West German Fat Lava Lamps, but I must admit also slightly confusing, as I have the lamp base front left, it is glazed in Fat Lava style, it is identical, I thought they were suppose to be West German and not made in a Middle England Pottery?
