Lamp Shade Lamination Gallery
To construct our lampshades we laminate external fabrics onto internal substrates. These are available in various colours and finishes. These not only look different when switch off, but also when switched on - You may want order swatches so that you can see the colours and finishes in the flesh before deciding on your order, as items ar made to order they cannot be returned.
Standard White Lamination LEX2001
LEX2001 Standard White Lamination - our most popular and economical lamination. It illuminates fabrics well ( particularly prints) and also reflects a pure white light.
Standard Clear Lamination LEX2002
LEX2002 Standard Clear Lamination is a contemporary option - it shows the reverse of the fabric - an effect which can work very well with weaves. Its transparency means that the light bulb source is not hidden, in fact it can be seen quite clearly through the shade - an effect that people either love or hate - be sure which you are before ordering.
If we are using your fabric, please note that Clear can’t be used with all fabrics - ugly backings are a no-no.

Shiny Copper Lamination LEX2021
LEX2021 Shiny Copper Lamination ( this photo still has the protective covering on, so you’re not getting the full shiny effect). It is super reflective & gives a warm effect to any lamp, particularly effective used with a filament bulb giving an industrial vibe. A great alternative to using real copper metal fittings as this is super light weight & can be used with all sorts of fabric coverings to achieve a unique light display.
Shiny Gold Lamination LEX2022
LEX2022 Shiny Gold Lamination. Gives great reflective glow, especially when used with a filament bulb - but is Opaque and doesn’t let any light through the shade.
maison voyage linen on transparent lining
Maison voyage sequin linen on transparent lining lampshade. Natural Linen on a transparent lamination is a popular choice but you do get the hot spot of the bulb, that means it doens’t hide or diffuse the bulb much, we find it is a bit of a Marmite effect - you either love it or hate it. Be sure to decide if you want this effect before you order your bespoke lampshade from us.

Brushed Copper Lining Lamination
Brushed Copper Lining Lamination - looks like real brushed metal. It doesn’t let light through the shade ( opaque) but does give a lovely warming glow effect to the lampshade - in this case to match the brushed copper stem of the lamp base.
Brushed Copper Lampshade material transparent
Brushed Copper Lampshade material transparent - you can see the bulb through this material when switched on - it looks like solid copper when switched off - really nice contemporary lighting effect and makes super light weight shades which could be vey useful in certain applications. Great for exhibitions and public spaces.
Brushed Aluminium Lampshade Transparent
Brushed Aluminium Lampshade Transparent - you can see the bulb through this material - in this case a rather funky Plumen Bulb. It is a lightweight alternative to real metal - it looks solid when switched off & only when illuminated do you get the transparent effect.
